President Vladimir Putin met with Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski

During the meeting the Presidents discussed bilateral relations, including in the trade and economic sphere. They agreed that it was necessary to step up the activities of the joint inter-governmental commission for implementing agreements reached during the Russian President’s January visit to Poland.

The Presidents stated that serious positive changes have recently taken place in Russian-Polish relations.

In discussing international issues, the sides touched upon, among other things, the problems of the Kaliningrad Region in view of the forthcoming enlargement of the EU.

Vladimir Putin informed his Polish counterpart of the results of the recent Russia-EU summit held in Moscow.

The Presidents also discussed the results of the Almaty CICA summit.
