Opening the meeting, President Putin thanked the heads of all security agencies, servicemen, and officers who participated in the operation of stopping a major terrorist unit from penetrating into Russia from neighbouring Georgia. Mr Putin expressed his condolences to the families of Russian servicemen who were killed during the operation, and said all the victims should receive state support.
The President also mentioned the detainment in Georgia of some terrorists that had been pushed out from Chechnya by Russian special forces.
