The two Presidents discussed the relevant aspects of political, economic, energy and military-technical cooperation and the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation on regional issues in such international organisations as the Commonwealth of Independent States, EurAsEC and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
The Presidents of Russia and Kyrgyzstan also exchanged views on the preparations for a summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Chisinau in early October.
After the talks Mr Putin and Mr Akayev made statements to the press and answered questions from journalists.
