The Russian leader approved the idea of holding the conference on the initiative of the United Russia party and expressed confidence that institutions of state authority could benefit from the correct use of the conference results.
President Putin told delegates that he supported the Government’s pricing policies, said it would be inappropriate to grant tax relief to Russian enterprises, and that a well thought-out approach was essential in this sphere.
Vladimir Putin approved the idea of appointing effective managers to state-owned companies subject to privatisation. President Putin also agreed with many initiatives of the conference delegates and said he would issue the appropriate orders to the Government; for example, a proposal on establishing integrated transport companies.
The meeting also discussed a new bankruptcy bill now being examined by the State Duma. President Putin expressed hope that the bill’s enactment would solve many problems and that the law would become an effective economic recovery instrument.
