Mr Putin supported some proposals on installing computers in schools, ensuring Internet access, and on allowing schools to choose authorised teaching aides and to set their own holidays.
The meeting discussed the possibility of reinstating basic military training in schools. In connection with this, President Putin said this was not enough to convince young people not to fear military service. He said the situation in the armed forces had to change, that military reform and contract service in high-risk conflict areas were essential.
