“We are your neighbours, so we see with special clarity the major achievements of Azerbaijan, our friend, in strengthening its statehood and in the far-reaching reforms in every sphere of public and economic life.

We are glad to see the progress of our countries’ cooperation. I am sure that further progress of the Russian-Azerbaijani strategic partnership will, as before, promote closer bilateral ties and peace and stability in the Caucasus.

We are determined to carry on our joint efforts to enhance the effectiveness of the Commonwealth of Independent States. As its recent summit in Chisinau has shown, the CIS has considerable potential to enhance integration processes up to the standards of contemporary global development.”

In conclusion, Vladimir Putin wished Heidar Aliyev health and success, and wellbeing and prosperity to the fraternal nation of Azerbaijan.
