Mr Putin and Mr Voronin discussed prospects for settling the Transdnester conflict.
Mr Putin also asked about the economic situation in Moldova. Mr Voronin said that the republic had repaid its internal and external debts, raised wages and pensions, and put an end to power blackouts.
Mr Putin and Mr Voronin agreed to continue their dialogue on February 7 during a working visit by the Moldovan President to Moscow.
