The President stressed the fact that ensuring the financial stability, and credit resources, of industrial enterprises, is one of the key Government priorities.

Noting that the anticrisis programme is being implemented more slowly than had been planned, Dmitry Medvedev urged the Government to speed its work to overcome the financial-economic crisis, and said that new instructions would be issued to this end.

Before the meeting began, the President toured several of the plant's work sections, and looked at sample products.

Moscow Machine Building Plant “Salut” – is a research and production enterprise, which makes engines for aeroplanes, and land based gas turbine powerplants of various types. The business supplies the national defence and energy security sectors.

”Salut“ was the first factory in Russia to produce engines for aeroplanes. Its engines have been installed in seventy types of commercially available planes. Planes fitted with the ”Salut“ engine have made over twenty world records.

The enterprise employs 136 scientists with advanced science degrees. During the past five years the company has received over 200 patents for inventions and industrial prototypes, and has created over 80 cutting edge engineering technology applications.
