The two leaders praised the results of the recent Russian-French summit. They stressed that Mr Putin’s visit to France gave impetus to the development of bilateral relations and international cooperation.
During the conversation, the two leaders confirmed their positions on Iraq: all the possibilities provided by Resolution 1441 of the UN Security Council must be used to settle the Iraq issue peacefully. They expressed satisfaction that this approach was accepted by the world community and the UN Security Council meeting, which took place on February 14.
