The Russian President listened to a report by the hospital’s head, Vyacheslav Klyuzhev. The hospital took in 2,378 wounded people from Chechnya after the counterterrorism operation. Mr Klyuzhev stressed that one of the main problems facing the hospital were the low salaries of its medical staff.
Mr Putin visited patients and answered patients’ questions. One of the soldiers asked Mr Putin for help to enter university, because after injuries many soldiers cannot do physical work. In this connection, Mr Putin pointed out the need to create a special programme to help wounded soldiers.
The Russian President thanked the soldiers for their service and wished them a speedy recovery.
