“The Prosecutor General’s Office is one of the most important parts of the country’s law enforcement system”, Mr Medvedev said in his message of congratulations. “Established almost 300 years ago, its mission is to carry out an uncompromising fight against crime and protect the lawful interests of Russia’s citizens and state.

Russia’s prosecutors have a whole series of important missions today. You are responsible for ensuring strict compliance with the law and you also have an important part to play in fighting corruption, strengthening law and order, ensuring reliable protection of citizens’ social rights and economic freedoms, maintaining the supremacy of the law and overcoming legal nihilism in our society”.
