The two leaders discussed issues related to the recovery of the Abkhazian economy, particularly possible resumption of the Inguri hydroelectrical power plant’s work.
The Russian President said that the plant issue had been discussed during his talks with Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze. He stressed that InguriGES would not only provide Georgia and Abkhazia with electricity, but would also be able to export energy to Russia.
