Mr Putin stressed the Russian interest in developing scientific and high technological contacts with Germany.

Russia and Germany had everything necessary for a breakthrough in business contacts, especially in production cooperation, he said.

Russian economic reforms were gaining momentum to make the Russian market more attractive. By the end of April, the Government would formulate further measures to liberalise and debureaucratise the fiscal legislation and ease the tax burden.

Russia was determined to offer full support to its reliable partners—in particular, the Siemens company, whose work sets a fine example to those still unsure about entering the Russian market, the President said.
