Mr Putin and Mr Chirac discussed bilateral relations, the political and economic interaction of Russia and France, and the upcoming Russia-European Union summit.
Mr Putin gave special attention to the implementation of an ambitions programme of Russia-EU partnership estimated at 2.5 billion euros.
The Presidents also discussed aerospace partnership—in particular, at the Kourou space centre, the prospects of cultural contacts, and Russian and French language studies in the two countries.
