Russia assigns the central role in fighting new threats and regional crises to the UN, the message read.
The President defined the main problems facing the international community today. New global challenges – international terrorism, drug trafficking, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, financial and economic crises, environmental threats and pandemics have replaced the global nuclear threat, the message read.
Mr Putin stressed that the main goal of Russia’s policy is cooperation in fighting these threats. “This position results in our steady support of the UN’s central role,” the President said in his message.
