During the talk the two heads of state discussed topical international issues concentrating on the Middle East.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the signs of progress in this process in the light of the agreements reached during the recent summit meeting in Akaba (Jordan).
The Presidents stressed the commitment of their countries to moving forward on the basis of the “road map” adopted by the Palestinian and Israeli sides.
The two heads of state also discussed practical aspects of the preparation of the Russian-American summit to be held in September 2003 in the US.
