President Vladimir Putin held his annual press conference for Russian and foreign journalists

June 20, 2003, The Kremlin, Moscow

The President’s press conference lasted longer than ever – 2 hours and 45 minutes. Forty-eight journalists asked a total of 53 questions, mostly on Russia’s internal problems.

Like at all previous press conferences, the President gave priority to the regional media, which accounted for nearly two-thirds of all questions. Most questions asked by Russian and foreign journalists concerned the forthcoming presidential election, party development and changes in the government.
