The message read, in part:

“We confirmed once again during our St Petersburg meeting that Russian-US cooperation was immune to the pursuit of short-term political interests, and that it remained the key factor of international security and strategic stability. Together, I am sure, we shall successfully strengthen and extend the partnership which forms the basis of bilateral cooperation against new threats and challenges to counteract international terrorism and settle global problems facing humanity.

“I look forward to seeing you at Camp David. I regard the upcoming meeting as an essential stage of our intensive teamwork for further progress in thoroughly new and mutually beneficial Russian-US relations.”
