President Vladimir Putin and the Head of the Central Electoral Commission of the Russian Federation Alexander Veshynakov discussed the work of the commission in connection with the upcoming elections for the State Duma and in a number of subjects of the Russian Federation

Speaking about the preparations for the State Duma, Alexander Veshnyakov informed the President about the completion of the process of the improving of electoral legislation and the creation of additional mechanisms of public control of calculating elections results.

The President also expressed interest in preparations for regional elections of heads of executive bodies of power. Alexander Veshynakov discussed preparations for elections in the Chechen Republic. Veshynakov said that international observers would definitely be invited to Chechnya.
