Nikolai Patrushev informed Vladimir Putin about efforts to strengthen Russia’s southern borders.

During his lengthy trip to southern Russia, Mr Patrushev met with the heads of border regions and military personnel serving there and closely analysed the border situation.

Mr Patrushev stressed that regional leaders were ready to cooperate in improving the state-border infrastructure, and that the local population was also interested in this. He said the relevant decisions would help create a modern border infrastructure in the south of the country.
