Mr Putin and Mr Lebedev discussed the activities of the Presidential Council for Enhancement of the Judicial System, which was recently established.
The Chairman of the Supreme Court spoke about the Council’s plans to ensure that judicial districts coincide with the territorial ones. Mr Lebedev said the other activities of the Council included the analyses of the use of the Criminal Procedure and Civil codes, raising the level of judicial education and training.
The President said they must do everything to make the judicial system an independent and full-fledged branch of power.
