At a speech at the 10th summit of the heads of state and government of the Organisation of Islamic Conference, held in the Malaysian city of Putrajaya, President Vladimir Putin noted that Russia, like the majority of nations represented at the OIC summit, is in favour of strengthening the system of international law and the central coordinating role of the United Nations in solving world problems

According to the Russian President, among the many contemporary threats, perhaps the most important remains the inflammation of interethnic and inter-religious conflicts. Attempts to drag the international community into this essentially artificial conflict are being made in the West and in the East.

At the same time, Vladimir Putin said, attempts to provoke Islamophobia in Russia have failed completely, and Muslims are a full and integral part of the peoples of Russia. In this religious harmony we see the strength of our country, its worth, wealth and advantage, said Vladimir Putin.
