Today, Russia’s relations with Asian and Pacific region countries are not developing as dynamically as they are with Western Europe, for example. However, the opportunity should not be missed to take part in interaction with the countries of this region. In this sense, the meeting of heads of state and governments of APEC member countries was productive, the President stressed.

Summit participants were able to discuss problems of the region, such as new restrictions on trade. It is clear that it is necessary to increase the safety of international trade in connection with the threat of terrorism. At the same time, the President pointed out to his colleagues that this issue needs to be solved with methods and means that are not an additional burden on the world economy and which would not lead to a reduction in its growth rates.
