The situation in the region has improved after the election of the head of the Republic, Akhmat Kadyrov said. The government has been formed, and the preparations for elections to the State Duma are underway, with 10 candidates already registered.
The Chechen President also told Vladimir Putin that compensation to citizens who had lost their homes would be paid out before the middle of next year. At present 16,000 applications for compensation are pending before the republic’s authorities, and 245 families have already received payments.
It was the first meeting between the Russian President and Akhmat Kadyrov after his election as President of Chechnya.
