The message said, in part:

“The Russian Orthodox Church is prominent in bringing together Russians outside their country. St Nicholas’ Cathedral is a material symbol of Russian culture and piety in America to Russians who, wherever they might be, regard service to their Motherland as a cherished spiritual demand and moral duty.

“I am sure that the links of the patriarchal parishes in the United States with Russia will continue to grow closer in the causes we share.”
