Intensifying economic cooperation was the main subject discussed during talks between President Vladimir Putin and Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Medgyessy

November 29, 2003

The President noted that trade and economic ties between Russia and Hungary are growing and said that Russia’s trade turnover with Hungary has risen by around 35 percent this year.

Mr Putin said he understands well Hungary’s desire to develop economic ties with the Russian regions and to promote the return to Russia’s markets of Hungarian goods that were traditionally present here.

The two sides also agreed to examine the possibilities for simplifying visa rules and procedures for certain categories of their citizens.
