Mr Putin and Mr Ivanov met before the Russian President’s departure from Moscow to Vladivostok. Mr Ivanov informed Mr Putin about the results of his trip to the Mil Mi-26 Halo helicopter crash site.

Mr Putin stressed the need for a thorough investigation of the disaster’s causes, and said objective findings would help improve the performance of the Russian Armed Forces.

President Putin ordered Mr Ivanov to provide all necessary support to the relatives of the crash victims.
