Mr Putin expressed confidence that the new issue would be interesting for readers and would help in developing Russian-Ukrainian cooperation and involving the Russian and Ukrainian people in inter-governmental relations between the two countries.

In connection with the Year of Russia in Ukraine, the message said, in part:

“The socio-political events held during this project were related to all kinds of bilateral cooperation. They have proved that our relations not only have a rich history and traditions, but also have the potential for further development.

Russia and Ukraine are strengthening their strategic partnership based on equality and mutual respect. We are ready to move on, and create even more solid and stable relations.”
