Meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell, the President noted that Russian-American relations are built on a foundation solid enough to enable the two countries to overcome any current differences. Mr Putin stressed that Russia will continue to act in this spirit.

The President noted positive developments in relations with the United States and said that the list of questions identified as priorities (during talks with U.S. President George Bush at Camp David) is now receiving constant attention from specialists and that Russia is working towards fulfilling all the plans it had mapped out.

Mr Putin also added that trade and economic ties are developing well and cooperation in the fight against terrorism is intensifying.
