President Putin’s message said, in part:

“Russians know you as a consistent supporter of friendship and mutually advantageous cooperation between our two countries and of a deeper Russian-Uzbek strategic partnership.

“I am convinced that the expansion of Russia’s versatile cooperation with Uzbekistan will help to implement large-scale social and economic programmes in the interests of our peoples’ welfare, stability and security in Central Asia.”
