Mr Putin said that Russian-Turkish relations had recently been developing at a good pace. The trade turnover was increasing by 15–20% a year and had reached the $6.5 billion mark, according to official statistics. Its total closely approached $12 billion when taking into account tourist and shuttle trade revenues. Russia ranked second after Germany in Turkish commerce.
