The meeting identified priorities for further developing the Union State. Participants discussed a joint crisis plan, increasing foreign policy cooperation and developing trade and economic networks, including the formation of a single customs territory and making the [Russian] rouble a regional currency. They paid a great deal of attention to military-technical cooperation, in particular the establishment of a unified regional air defence system. Meeting participants also touched upon the social development of the Union State and approved its 2009 budget that provides for increased funding for Union State programmes.
