In the house-museum, Vladimir Putin had a conversation with the writer’s widow, Maria Koryakina-Astafyeva, about the future of Viktor Astafiev’s archives.
The President said that she was the only person to decide it. However, specialists studying the writer’s life and work should, probably, be familiarised with the archives, too.
At the end of the meeting, Maria Koryakina-Astafyeva asked who would finance the maintenance of the writer’s apartment-museum in the Academic Township of Krasnoyarsk. Vladimir Putin allayed her anxieties by saying that both federal and local authorities would take care of it.
