During talks with leaders of the parliamentary majority in the State Duma, President Vladimir Putin proposed Mikhail Fradkov as a candidate for Prime Minister

The President noted that choosing a candidate for Prime Minister was not a simple task. The person should be very competent and honest, with vast experience of work in various spheres of state activity.

The meeting, which was held at the Kremlin’s representative office, was attended by State Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov, his first deputies Alexander Zhukov and Lyubov Sliska, his deputies Georgy Boos, Vyacheslav Volodin and Vladimir Pekhtin, first deputy heads of United Russia Vladimir Katrenko, Valery Bogomolov and Yury Volkov, and also Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Vladislav Surkov.
