Russia is closely watching the political situation in the United States to gauge the development of bilateral relations, the President said.
The general ideas of US President George W. Bush’s address to Congress and Secretary of State Colin Powell’s publications on the development of partnership caught Russia’s attention, and they fully correspond to our concept on the development of relations between our countries, Mr Putin said.
The President said he was confident that they would have an interesting discussion on a wide range of Russian-American relations and the world situation.
