March 2, 2004, Novo-Ogaryovo

The budget revenues, as planned, amounted to 435 billion roubles, and expenditures, also as planned, to 437 billion roubles.

Russian regions received subsidies totalling 26.3 billion roubles. Mr Kudrin said that at the request of some regions 3,764 million roubles were allocated in advance in order to pay wages on time. The total sum of subsidies allocated to the regions in January-February 2004 equalled 30 billion roubles.

An additional 6.5 billion roubles was earmarked from the compensation fund to provide help to disabled people, veterans, and to pay children’s allowances and other social welfare benefits, Mr Kudrin said.

After refinancing, 45 billion roubles were spent to pay off debts.

Mr Kudrin said the Stabilisation Fund reached the 122-billion-rouble mark.
