Mr Putin asked Mr Fradkov about his proposals concerning the structure of the future Government. Mr Putin noted that he knew about the meetings between Mr Fradkov and some of the ministers of the outgoing Government and people who had drafted the new organisational structure for the last several months.

Mr Putin praised Mr Fradkov’s meetings in the State Duma. He said they laid a solid basis for constructive interaction between Parliament and the future Government.

Mr Fradkov said that the State Duma meetings were serious and fruitful. The deputies made proposals for doubling GDP and fighting poverty.
