The head of state called the results of the presidential election held the day before “quite satisfactory”. He thanked all the citizens of Russia who supported his campaign and stressed that such broad popular support was an indispensable sign of trust.

Those who voted for the incumbent President supported the positive changes that took place in recent years, including the positive shifts in Russia’s economy, Mr Putin said.

He attributed his high results in the presidential election to his intensive and conscientious efforts as President during the past four years.

The President’s conversation with journalists lasted for 45 minutes.
