Mr Nazarbayev sincerely congratulated Mr Putin on his convincing victory in the presidential election, which confirmed the high level of popular trust in him.
During their conversation, the Presidents briefly discussed further work to create a Common Economic Space and preparations for the summits of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) and Collective Security Treaty Organisation to be held in June 2004.
The conversation took place on Kazakhstan’s initiative.
