Mr Blair warmly congratulated Mr Putin on his great achievement – the landslide victory in the presidential election.
Both heads of state confirmed their commitment to uphold the high level of bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction with the achieved results in trade and investment cooperation, promising their support for more intensive ties in this sphere.
Mr Putin and Mr Blair also discussed future Russian-British contacts in 2004, including joint participation in international forums.
