The space industry must set the pace for other industries and be an instrument in addressing many vital tasks such as strengthening the common information space in Russia, and developing telecommunications and navigation systems, President Putin told the conference.

In the President’s opinion, the space industry could support effective exploration and rational use of natural resources and improve the quality of predicting natural disasters.

Mr Putin urged the need to increase the country’s space potential and noted the importance of international cooperation in this sphere.
