The Agreement, signed on May 23, 2001, is aimed at providing cooperation between the parties in all the main areas of joint space activities, it contains provisions regulating the legal protection of rocket and space goods and technologies as well as security-related goods and technologies. The Agreement ensures the necessary conditions for effective implementation of joint projects in the exploration and peaceful use of outer space and meets the interests and real needs of the Russian space industry.
