The Livadia Palace outside Yalta was the venue of a meeting of the heads of states signatories to the Agreement on the Formation of the Common Economic Space

The leaders of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine discussed the progress of the work to form the legal framework of the Common Economic Space, prospects for the creation of a customs and transport union between the four countries and agreed the list of priority economic projects whose implementation would pave the way for a new stage of integration.

After the talks Vladimir Putin, Nursultan Nazarbayev, Leonid Kuchma and Alexander Lukashenko made statements to the press and answered journalists’ questions.
