President Putin congratulated the players on winning the Russia Football Cup and wished them success in the UEFA Cup. President Putin said that the Republic’s leaders should pay more attention to building new and restoring old sports facilities when planning the restoration of Grozny. That includes the building of small playgrounds where children can practice every day, the Russian President stressed. Acting President of Chechnya Sergei Abramov told Mr Putin that the Terek team dedicated their victory in the Russia Cup to the memory of Akhmat Kadyrov. It was that victorious spirit that helped them to win, he said.

The Russian President suggested that the Chechen sword Akhmat Kadyrov had presented to him be passed to a top Terek player for temporary custody.
