Last night, Chechen rebels made an attack in the republic.

At a meeting in Magas, the Russian President assessed this attack as another attempt to scare Ingush, scare the leadership of the republic and destabilize the situation in the south of Russia.

Vladimir Putin said that a regiment of internal forces will be stationed in Magas, and measures should be taken together with the Defence Ministry to increase security at the airport and strengthen the appropriate law-enforcement bodies.
