The President met with Vladimir Kasyanov, the institute’s director. Mr Putin gave his backing to the idea of building an oceanarium in the Far East and discussed various proposals for its construction. Vladimir Kasyanov informed the President on the institute’s work and development prospects.
Mr Putin then visited the marine lipids laboratory and the institute’s museum, which contains ancient and rare specimens of marine life as well as exhibits on the institute’s work today, its programmes and research.
