At a meeting with members of Government, the President entrusted the Cabinet of Ministers, including the Finance Ministry, to organise financing of the move from privileges to cash compensations.

Very large funds are required for compensations, the President noted. In particular, veterans of the Great Patriotic War will be given 20 times as many funds from the federal budget, and invalid will get 10 times as much. Funds for these people have never before been allocated in these volumes.

Mr. Putin pointed out once more to the Prime Minister that all the decisions in the sphere should ensure that the position of people who receive privileges not only does not worsen, but gets better.

The President said it was necessary to make the system more socially balanced and fair.
