Solving the social problems of veterans is one of the main tasks in preparing the celebrations for the 60th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War.

At a meeting of the State Council on preparing and carrying out the celebrations, President Vladimir Putin stressed that the social health of veterans was a priority issue of state policy.

However, what is actually being done is not sufficient. President Putin believes it is fundamentally important not just to inform and explain to veterans about the steps taken by the State Duma and the Government to reform the system of social privileges, but also to find solutions which would improve the veterans’ situation.
