At his meeting with President Putin Minister for Justice Yuri Chaika pointed out that, although many amendments had been made to current legislation, the previous document still did not correspond to today’s realities.

In line with Russia’s international commitments in the fight against terrorism, the new bill includes expanded terminology. For example, for the first time it includes definitions of the terms counter-terrorist operation and acts of terrorism, and the organizations are identified that are directly responsible for counteracting terrorism.
