After the match between Terek and Lech (Poland), President Vladimir Putin met with the players and head of the Grozny football club. Mr Putin said that he had kept track of the match, which was a fine performance to watch, especially in the second half.
The leadership of the Chechen Republic was also present at the meeting.
At the end of the talk, Mr Putin was photographed with the football players, and wished them further success in the European arena.
Terek won their first match in the UEFA cup 1:0.
